Stevia for Consumers

Stevia First initially plans to produce stevia leaf or extract for sale to processors and refiners that will process and further refine stevia extract for consumers and beverage formulators. The company has also identified OEM suppliers and food technologists that could enable the company to offer its own branded product line offering significant benefits and attributes through use of stevia as a tabletop sweetener and/or nutritional enhancement.

The steviol glycloside with the best taste profile is Reb A, which can be 200 to 400 times sweeter than sugar, depending on how it is formulated and used. Reb A has zero calories and does not elicit a glycemic response – making it appropriate for diabetics. It’s also non-cariogenic, making it safe for teeth. Because Reb A is heat and pH stable, people can use it the same way they use sugar – and enjoy calorie-free sweetness.
